“ Education is not preparation of life, education is life itself.” - John Dewey
Learning is a continuous Process.
We encourage our students to embrace the art of learning in a very dynamic environment coupled with care and dedication.
We strive to bring out the very best in a student.
A child is a positive asset and a precious national resource which needs to be cherished, nurtured and developed with tenderness and care.
The school therefore has undertaken a great leap in integrating information and communication technology into the class room teaching and learning process.
I take this opportunity to thank all the parents who have reposed their faith in our school. We assure to do our very best always. - Fleemy John

Overview / Life at School
David Memorial High School is built around our ethos of inspiring our students to unlock their true potential. This is delivered through various experiences, excellence in teaching and a welcoming and nurturing community.
The outstanding care provided at David Memorial places all its students at the heart of the school, with an emphasis on values, character and a range of experiences for all round development. We are extremely focussed on the care and spiritual well-being provided to our students as it is critical to our values and security of our children.
The life of our students at David Memorial from an academic, pastoral, social and co-curricular standpoint interweave to deliver our core aims and goals of :
Preparing our students for their future
Creating a community for life
Promoting academic excellence
Providing a nurturing environment
David Memorial School promotes academic excellence by finding the best in every student. These academic ambitions sit solidly alongside our aims to develop our students character by encouraging their academic and extra curricular activities.
Education should never be confused with assessment and at David Memorial we understand the difference.
Teaching at David Memorial is based upon our principles of motivating and inspiring each student individually to achieve their potentials to the best of their ability. We achieve academic excellence through building our students curiosity in the world, confidence to question convention and desire to be the best they can be.
The Academic Curriculum at David Memorial provides as broad an education as possible and follows SSC/CBSE. The curriculum in each year is designed to lead naturally into the next stage of a students education. Subjects are taught by specialist teachers at all levels.
The extra curricula activities are an integral part of the broad educational experience and there is an expectation that students joining the School will take every opportunity on offer through to the end of their 10th Standards.
The Principal, Mrs Fleemy John, oversees all academic matters and reports directly to the Chairman Mrs. Sucherita Divakar.
Academic performance at David Memorial is rising significantly in the last fifteen years. We believe in small sets in core subjects up to SSC to allow students to develop at appropriately different paces. Assessment and monitoring strategies allow us to fully track a child's progress and push each to their potential.
Assistance is provided in every subject beyond the timetable by the teachers. Mentoring and Conselling is done for students throughout the year, not just as examinations approach but teachers share their ideas on a regular basis. ‘Golden Lessons’ operate frequently where every teacher trials new approaches - children embrace this and are stimulated to try new ideas and tactics themselves.
Students academic, pastoral and co-curricular progress is monitored closely by a committed team of Tutors and Housemasters with the aim of identifying any child who is not making the progress to which they are capable. The progress of students is carefully monitored both by the subject teacher and the Tutor, and there is regular communication with parents should a problem arise. Parents are fully informed of the academic progress of their child. Assessment grades are reported for both academic achievement and effort attainment through the year. Full progress reports are provided to parents each term through a written report and discussed every month during Parents-Teacher Meeting.
We believe in going an extra mile at David Memorial and hence we have an excellent Smart Class Technology in place for our students. At David Memorial, all our classrooms are equipped with Smart Class equipment, display boards, aesthetic-furnishing, projector and lockers. In addition, a high speed broadband connection in order to ease this process.
The traditional way of teaching became deprecated a few years ago. With the upcoming technology, it has become easier for teachers to impart their knowledge to students and for students to grasp concepts.
The visual teaching gives a child the ability to learn and imagine. The modules are designed in teacher led format where all teachers integrate these elements with a plan.
The Library at David Memorial is situated within the main building of the School with easy access to all students. The Library is used throughout the week for quiet study and independent learning. The Library is a comprehensive center providing back-up research facilities to a students work and research. In addition it is a welcoming and inspiring environment to encourage students to improve their independent study skills.
Our Library houses over 5,000 books covering all curriculam subjects as well as fiction titles and graphic novels. The facilities available include a PC, printer and photo copy machine. We also have a range of magazines and newspapers related to both academic and general subjects together with DVDs and audio books.
A weekly Book Club is held in the Library as part of the Activities Programme where members read and discuss books.
At David Memorial we see Sports as a vehicle to develop the School’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Curiosity, Resilience, Responsibility and Independence. An exciting and challenging sports programme in which all students participation helps to instil these values, producing well-rounded individuals who are confident, generous in spirit and deed, and who will possess a lifelong love of sports.
Our Major Sports of Cricket, Soccer and Chess are regularly successful in national level competitions and an ever-increasing number of teams represent the School at all levels. Students are also able to participate in a wide range of Additional Sports which offer not only high levels of involvement but also significant success. Our progress in Tennis, Badminton and Softball compete and win at national levels.
Facilities for sport at David Memorial are excellent – for outdoor Sports and indoor games - all providing an impressive infrastructure for all round development of the students.
We Celebrate all festivals through the year in our main building as one Family. We encourage and teach our students regarding cleanliness and neatness. We observe GREEN DAY (SWACH-BHARAT) where in all our students and staff come dressed in Green. We do plant trees and plants with the help of a gardener in the school premises.
We encourage all students to keep their surroundings clean for a better eco-system as we should all believe and teach everyone around us - "CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS"
